Why Creative Businesses Need Social Media Presence to Grow

As a creative entrepreneur, I understand the struggles of growing a business from the ground up – especially with no financial support or other resources. I understand hustling every day and cultivating your business into something viable. It takes resilience, determination, and a willingness to explore different avenues for growth. One avenue that I've discovered to be crucial is social media presence. It’s a free resource we all have access to as long as we have an internet connection on any digital device capable of downloading apps.

Social media is no longer just a trend. It's become an integral part of our daily lives, offering a unique way for businesses to showcase their work and connect with their audience. If you aren’t using social media as part of your marketing strategy, you’re missing out on incredible opportunities, and you might be leaving money on the table – so to speak.

The Importance of Social Media Presence for Creative Businesses

Social media is an incredibly powerful tool. It offers a level of accessibility that traditional marketing methods don't, allowing businesses to reach a wider audience and build relationships with their customers – and did I mention it’s a free marketing tool? As a creative business, social media allows you to showcase your unique style, connect with like-minded individuals, and gain exposure in a way you may not have been able to achieve otherwise.

Having a strong social media presence can help drive traffic to your website, increase brand awareness, and ultimately generate more sales. As I mentioned earlier in my rant-infused opinion article, you do not need a large following to monetize your social media platform or transform it into another source of income. By sharing your work and interacting with your audience, you build trust and foster a community that genuinely cares about your brand. And when you launch a new product or service, they’ll be eager to support you because you would have a history of providing value to them.

Content Marketing and Social Media: A Dynamic Duo

In addition to social media, content marketing (this article is an example of content marketing) efforts on your website are crucial for growing your business. Your website is your digital storefront, and the content you produce reflects your brand values and the quality of your work.

However, without social media, driving traffic to your website and generating leads is challenging. Integrating social media into your content marketing strategy creates a seamless experience for your audience. Sharing blog posts, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and product launches on social media helps create excitement and keeps your audience engaged with your brand. Your audience that reads your blogs and articles will have a social place to gather and engage more with your brand. Similarly – as I explained in this article - if social media marketing is your only strategy and you don’t have a website for your creative business, you’re missing out on Google’s 3.5 billion daily active users. Yes, you read that right, billions of users per day, and that’s not including YouTube. Ultimately, you want to have both a website as a home base and one or two social media platforms that increase your brand awareness.

If you just launched or are planning to launch a YouTube channel as part of your social media strategy, I created a free YouTube Growth Roadmap for creative entrepreneurs like you. I actually recently got back on the platform, so I created a simple marketing guide to help me grow my channel and decided to share it with other creative entrepreneurs. Download your free copy now.

The Transformative Power of Social Media

At the heart of all creative businesses lies the transformative power of creativity. Social media offers an opportunity to showcase that transformative power, not just in our work but also in our journey as entrepreneurs. Sharing our experiences and business development journey creates an integrated community and empowers others to pursue their creative entrepreneurial dreams.

Social media presence is no longer just an option for creative businesses. It's essential for establishing a brand, reaching your audience, and generating leads. Integrating social media into your marketing strategy and utilizing content marketing on your website will create a powerful and seamless experience for your audience. Remember, each post, each interaction, and each direct message has the potential to transform someone's life – starting with your own.
