Origin Story
Asa
Asa Morse was born in a small village in Liberia during the country’s first civil war. She and her mother sought refuge in Nigeria, where they binge-watched old Nollywood and Bollywood films, listened to Fela Kuti, and ate copious amounts of coconut rice with suya.
After returning to Liberia, Asa helped her aunts with their food carts and started a small produce business with her grandma. She later emigrated to the United States and spent the rest of her adolescent years exploring Sacramento, California.
Seth
Seth Morse was born and raised in a small town in central California. As a means to escape the boredom of vineyard life, he learned to drive, fabricate metal, and build mechanical objects at a very young age. He started fixing his first car when he was eight years old and owned his first motorcycle when he was fourteen.
As a former FFA student, Seth is familiar with all aspects of farm life. He raised a pig and a cow, which he sold at auction in high school.
We met in Davis, California, smoked a lot of weed, got married, dropped out of college, and traveled the country (twenty-one states and countless cities). While traveling the country, we created food content on YouTube in 2016 and a food blog on Squarespace in 2018.
Now sober, a couple of pounds heavier, and a few years wiser, we’re settled in the Pacific Northwest, pouring our hearts into Morse Creatives. We’re enjoying the convergence of food, nature, and technology in this region.
